Truck Driver & Maintenance Person
In alignment with our company's values, purpose, goals, and strategy, the Truck Driver-Local position will execute delivery and pickup trips of agricultural and turf crop input products, with safe and defensive driving, to maximize customer satisfaction, with operational efficiency.
Job Requirements
- AZ license, clean abstract, no major offences
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Courteous and enthusiastic
- Able to work longer hours in season (spring and fall)
- Good teamwork skills and able to work in a high paced team atmosphere
- Self-starter, and conscientious
- Mechanically inclined or DIY abilities
- Familiar with mechanical maintenance and building maintenance
- Demonstrates self-discipline when working alone
Duties & Responsibilities
- Delivery of bulk and packaged goods using defensive and safe driving skills.
- Help to maintain trucks, equipment and buildings when not driving.
- Help with packaging products and loading trucks as needed when not driving.
- Communicate with the customer service manager/shipper receiver to ensure he/she has:
- the correct information on the bill of lading, including contact details
- the correct product on the truck
- has the most efficient and safest delivery route with the loading plan to ensure delivery efficiency and preferred access to customers property
- Responsible to communicate with the customer service manager/shipper receiver before departure from the last load to find out if a pick-up or back haul is required.
- Ensures completed signed delivery paperwork is returned to office for processing.
- Responsible to maintain (wash, grease, oil, filters etc.) their vehicle and advise of updates as required and implement them with management approval.
- Maintaining, refueling, equipment checks, walk-arounds.
- Responsible to advise management of needed repairs, gain approval and implement on appropriate repairs.
- Updates driver’s logbook efficiently and consistently, before and after each trip.
- Maintains AZ/DZ driver’s license, and any other licenses or accreditation required to complete the duties and responsibilities of the job.
- Completes other duties as assigned by management.
