Description
As part of the Nutrition and Environmental Services team, the cook is responsible for the preparation of a variety of food items for patients, visitors and staff in accordance with sanitary regulations. The cook will prepare food for patients that are on regular, modified or therapeutic diets.

Qualifications
- Secondary school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum Assistant Cook Certification
- Minimum one year experience in institutional or commercial food handling and food preparation
- Ability to work in accordance with safe food handling practices
- Must be physically able to stand, reach, bend and lift on a regular basis
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to perform routine tasks (including but not limited to pot washing, dishes, sweeping, mopping, cleaning, food prep)
- Knowledge of WHMIS
- Knowledge of therapeutic diets preferred
- Reliable attendance record
